Teams on Mac video is instantly choppy

I'm getting extremely jittery video despite a good connection. It looks like every few frames, a single frame from a second ago is displayed, causing both my video and other participants videos to just jitter in a really distracting way. It can't be my connection because I have a good ping & good connection, and its happening to my video as well.

I've been having the same issue, and started noticing it in December. Incredibly distracting. Tried other suggested fixes such as uninstalling/reinstalling, opening other video feeds, etc. The only thing that worked for me was installing an older version (1.5.00.28567 found here https://microsoft-teams-for-mac.en.uptodown.com/mac/download/85833794).

For reference I am on a 2020 MacBook Pro, running macOS Monterey with a Intel Core i5 processor.

Apparently this is a problem with Intel based Macbooks and is not a problem with the M1 Macbooks (different driver?).

The suggestion was made to me to run Teams in PWA mode (inside a web browser) rather than the native app. That does work. The jittery video was not present. Unfortunately the Web-based mode does not open automatically from calendar notifications, but it does solve the jittering video issue.

Clearly a bug introduced in Teams version 1.5.00.33356

Microsoft, why not just roll back the changes, find the problem and then update?
Leaving your users with this, quite frankly, nausea inducing issue that effects the primary use case of your product is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful.
