Teams on Mac video is instantly choppy

I'm getting extremely jittery video despite a good connection. It looks like every few frames, a single frame from a second ago is displayed, causing both my video and other participants videos to just jitter in a really distracting way. It can't be my connection because I have a good ping & good connection, and its happening to my video as well.

Mac OS 12.6 21G115

MacBook Pro

This has also started occurring in December on a 2019 MacBook Pro with a Core i9 as well as a 2020 MacBook Air. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help. This needs to be fixed by Microsoft.

    Didi and others,

I have had the same issue as many, many others. Microsoft is not responding as they should but whatever.

I did find at least a temporary solution.

If you go to teams.microsoft.com you can use your sign in to enable using teams via the web browser. That does work and it eliminates the choppy behavior. That's getting me by for now.

Yes please. It would be most helpful if we could revert one version until this is resolved.

Anyone know how to get the previous version from Microsoft? 1.5.00.31156

I used a download from this link: https://microsoft-teams-for-mac.en.uptodown.com/mac/versions and had one glorious jitter-free video call on 1.5.00.28567 (apparently two version back) before it auto-upgraded. I believe it is safe because it appeared properly signed (from Mac's perspective) and did not give an error or require a workaround when installing.

Unfortunately, I have found no way of pinning a specific version (without disconnecting internet? ha!), so you only get several hours before an auto upgrade happens. Boo on Microsoft for not giving its customers a way to prevent auto upgrade.

    Same issue here.

    MacOS client app only

Mac Pro and MacBook Pro. Internal and external cameras.

    MacOS 12

    Cache cleared. Reinstalled. Tried everything.
