Within the last month or so we go the pop up to try the "new" Teams... The new APP is having so many issues!! We use it for conference calls, and myself and others are having issues where the notifications are not showing, or when invited to a meeting it won't let you "join". I keep having audio (microphone & speaker) issues which I NEVER had previously. I really DO NOT like it. I've switched back to the older version for now. I simply refuse to keep dealing with all these NEW issues with the NEW version! :( It's simply horrible!

Totally agree. New Teams is still such a bad experience. I get so many people who can't join meetings, and finally get in at the 4th attempt, by which time we've lost 10 mins faffing around. We get plenty of problems with breakout rooms too, disconnections, people stuck between rooms, or looking like they have moved to the room we just moved them to, but in reality, they were still where they'd been.
We've had to stop using it as the hit on productivity and engagement has been bad.
I can do custom backgrounds with the old Teams. New Teams is getting force on us July 1st. I HATE it. The drop down feature to choose Chat vs. Contact is gone. I don't care about work arounds to accommodate this. This is a feature that is important to have. I have other team members who switched and all they have is issues.
Hi Wendy, Thanks for contacting us and sorry for the inconveniences, The new Teams app is designed to provide a faster, more reliable, and more consistent experience across different devices and platforms. It also introduces some new features and improvements, such as PowerPoint Live, custom backgrounds, and Teams notifications. However, I understand that you may encounter some issues or bugs with the new app, as it is still being updated and optimized. Some of the common issues and how to fix them are listed in the web search results below. You can also check for updates, clear the cache, or reset the app settings to troubleshoot the problems. If the issues persist, you can always switch back to the classic Teams app by selecting the Three dots icon to the left of your Profile photo in the top-right corner of the app. Select Switch to classic Teams and confirm your choice. You can switch back to the new Teams app anytime by following the same steps. Regards, Sola
When I switch back to the old (and good) Teams app poping up with 2 options: " switch to the New Teams" and "switch when I am not using Teams". Eventualy it switches to the new one. Why do we have to use the new version which is full of bugs.
The New Teams is ugly and the inability to have Contact conversations by category is a huge loss.
