Why is the "NEW" Teams so horrible??

Regardless of how many times I uninstall and reinstall TEAMS it only works in the browser. The app continues to give messages of not working or just hangs. I believe it is because I do have Office 360 but no longer a major corporate account. I have checked with many others and they have the same issue.

🐹 Guinea pig (common beta tester user) feedback about the "new" professional "work or school" Teams:

👍 like:

• fast access to audio settings during meetings (like it was in the past before MS broke it)
• messages / calls sound separated. (text sound - most annoying when hearing from others every 2min for 8hr)
• I can pick (pre-defined) ring tones to know it''s actually my computer and not one of the other 10
• download folder / "ask everytime" option
• in general the settings area is better

👎 dislikes:

• in light mode it's really blazing bright and aggressive.
• maybe I am wrong, but the text notification popups look very big now
• still can't turn off incoming video by default
• sharing bar. Needs to be pinned/unpinned before it folds. Not possible to click behind that bar.

😞 Deal braker: sharing bar > switched back to previous teams.

❓ Anyone knows where to find the meeting options in OOTW (!), specifically "lobby on/off"?

My company is evaluating Slack. So far, looks better than "old" Teams, and absolutely better than "new" Teams.

Our findings are the same as others in this thread. - New Teams is slow, notifications are broken, and has stability issues. We started evaluating other options because old Teams was not good for IT workers who need multi-tasking. Productivity took a hit when we started using it. This new teams cinches it - gotta change.

The 'new' Teams is unusable. I sent a message to my supervisor yesterday morning and when I looked for a response in the afternoon, it hadn't sent. I had to restart everything to get a single message to send. Pretty awesome that the 'new' Teams could have actually jeopardize my job due to this awesome new update. Luckily, everyone at my job is aware of how awful the 'new' Teams is and everyone I've talked to (dozens of people) are experiencing the same problem.

Another bonus, when I switched back to 'old' Teams, suddenly I have 3 Team's messages I didn't know about. Found that out today. I had messages that were sitting in limbo on the 'new' Teams that I couldn't get until I switched back to the 'old' Teams. I get it that it is Microsoft's job to make something that works and slowly update it until it doesn't work anymore. But maybe Microsoft should have taken their foot of the accelerator for a few more updates before they totally destroyed this app. As usual, terrible job Microsoft.

New Teams has caused us nothing but grief as an IT Team, Outlook online statuses have stopped working, video freezes or just doesn't work, calling issues, crashes. Our solution used to be to go back to Classic Teams but now they are taking that away and forcing us to use this piece of hot garbage. Don't force us to use something that is clearly broken for so many, fix it!
