Within the last month or so we go the pop up to try the "new" Teams... The new APP is having so many issues!! We use it for conference calls, and myself and others are having issues where the notifications are not showing, or when invited to a meeting it won't let you "join". I keep having audio (microphone & speaker) issues which I NEVER had previously. I really DO NOT like it. I've switched back to the older version for now. I simply refuse to keep dealing with all these NEW issues with the NEW version! :( It's simply horrible!

If you’re paying that much for Microsoft 365, you undoubtedly have Microsoft 365 for Business, which includes Teams. Hence, I do not understand why you’re using “free Teams”. Were you still wanting to use a free version of Teams, Microsoft is replacing its old free version with a new version.

Lots of folks have encountered some difficulties with Teams recently, from my own business subscription, where I had a problem restarting a meeting, to an international corporation where productivity was lost for a part of a day. I think that Microsoft has to bear part of the blame for these problems.

I don ‘t use Teams often enough to accurately assess the problem we incurred, but I have to point out that Microsoft 365 for Business is certainly facilitated productivity.

Aside from making money, what is the function of having this work and school separation? If one is a regular Office 365 customer, they get teams but it hangs with this work/school model. Get rid of it!! Zoom works regardless if you use the 30 minute free or pro version. Can't MS do it????

I experienced the same issues with Teams for mac and lost a job opportunity because of it. . I'm a freelance graphic designer and have been using free Teams for years. I did not know about the policy changes to free "personal" accounts. Now I have to pay another subscription fee from "prime" ? I already pay $31 a month for my MS Office 365 subscription. I work for myself. Yesterday I had a job interview meeting on Teams via a link from the client. I had so many issues, immediately.. Meeting it won't let you "join", I had to keep signing into my MS Office account, I had to use the browser version. I downloaded and installed the NEW version, but could not use because I'm not a work or school account. I could not share my screen. Issues with audio (microphone & speaker. The camera didn't work, although I tested the mic and camera settings before the meeting. I followed all the trouble shooting tips, wasting so much time spinning my wheels while the client waited for me to figure it out. It was so embarrassing, and the interviewer was frustrated. I'm sure I came off as not knowing what I. was doing. Needless to say,, I did not get the job offer. I keep having issues which I NEVER had previously. I will be using only Zoom going forward.

Hi Wendy, Thanks for contacting us and sorry for the inconveniences, The new Teams app is designed to provide a faster, more reliable, and more consistent experience across different devices and platforms. It also introduces some new features and improvements, such as PowerPoint Live, custom backgrounds, and Teams notifications. However, I understand that you may encounter some issues or bugs with the new app, as it is still being updated and optimized. Some of the common issues and how to fix them are listed in the web search results below. You can also check for updates, clear the cache, or reset the app settings to troubleshoot the problems. If the issues persist, you can always switch back to the classic Teams app by selecting the Three dots icon to the left of your Profile photo in the top-right corner of the app. Select Switch to classic Teams and confirm your choice. You can switch back to the new Teams app anytime by following the same steps. Regards, Sola

Yes, but app WILL switch to new version in 2025 and support for "old" app will seize on 1st of July 2024.

What shall we do with 3dots thereafter?
