Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

I am subscribed to this thread for a long time, but as I already wrote some time ago, disabling Print Screen key most probably helped in my case. Print screen was not only freezing some apps, but also crashing InteliJ IDEA. It might be unrelated to Teams bug, but nevertheless I don't have problem with arrow keys anymore. It doesn't mean that a single Print screen key breaks them, this key was problematic every couple/dozen presses, so maybe there are more conditions.

Now I sometimes have a different bug, my national characters stop working, like I changed keyboard language, only in Teams, but it's rare. Also it's very hard to right click system icon tray, because system menu almost always open on top of Teams menu.... It's a **** app, I hate it, but at least it's not as bad as Excel...

I see a lot of mentions of Windows Updates and possible causes. I have this issue on the Mac version of Teams, so I think it's a more fundamental Teams software bug. Exactly same behaviour as reported here (arrow keys to select text works, arrow keys to move cursor stops working, restart of the Teams application resolves the issue)

I notice that the arrow keys actually work in other parts of the UI - e.g. open a 'new meeting' in the calendar view, and go to the 'Add channel' option - you can move up and down the channel list using the up and down arrows, and expand and contract channel groupings using the left and right arrow keys. Looks to be a problem specifically affecting text entry.

I'm on Teams version 1.5.00.4683, running on macOS Monterey version 12.2.1. I updated to the new version of Teams yesterday and I actually hadn't noticed the issue before now so can't speak to whether it was introduced in this most recent or whether I have just been lucky up until now.
