Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop 

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external 

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

    Indeed!

    I think what all of this shows is that it probably wasn't a priority for the Microsoft product managers and/or devs until it moved to "low-hanging fruit" status. Happens when devs/PdM are overwhelmed by the number of issues/feature requests that need to be implemented.. some just end up getting starved. Not saying it's acceptable, of course.

    I'm on the verge of installing keystroke-logging spyware on my own laptop to figure out what precedes teams suddenly forgetting how to use left/right arrow keys. Someone in dev whoever is responsible for this thread, and probably a whole QA team needs to get a very stern talking to. This is why no one respects the quality of M$ code and if I had the ability to do so and still do my job, I would uninstall Teams and never open it again.

    I work for one of the big ones (Wink wink, nudge nudge) and we have to ask that of our clients quite a bit. It always reminds me of the IT Crowd show. Haha!

    But yes, I have the same exact issue with my arrow keys. And I work for one of those big companies....

    You would figure with all of the people experiencing it they would fix it. It's so annoying!
