Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

    From their webpage:

Got a suggestion or feedback to help make Teams better? We’d love to get your input.

Select Help Help button at the bottom lower-left of Teams and then choose Suggest a feature or Give feedback to tell us what you think.

I sent them this thread 👍

This has to be the silliest workaround in the history of workarounds, but it WORKS!! :)

Still happening 8th of March, 2022. Literally the only application I've ever come across that has this bug. Please fix it already.

We have moved to Slack in parallel because of all the problems with Teams in general, especially with guest users. Not had a problem yet with that software.

Absolutely crazy that this hasn't been resolved after all this time. It's random in that I don't know what triggers it to stop working, but it happens fairly quickly after restarting the app (i.e. within a day). It shouldn't be too difficult for someone at Microsoft to replicate or track. But it is a MAJOR inconvenience when trying to chat with anyone.
