Since yesterday, I am unable to share anything but PPTs in Team meetings with colleagues.

MS Teams 1.2.00.28258 on Mac 10.15 – since yesterday, I cannot share anything but PowerPoint files. The option to share ‘Desktop’ and ‘Windows’ have disappeared. I have checked the boxes in System Preferences > Security > Screen Recording.

hi all,  you have to go deep into preferences and allow the app to access your computer.  I know this isn't the best explanation, but I got it to work on my bosses computer.

This may be it:

  1. Click the Apple menu.
  2. Then, go to System Preferences > Click Security & Privacy > Privacy tab.
  3. Click Screen Recording.
  4. Click the lock icon to make changes.
  5. If required, enter your admin password.
  6. Finally, click the checkbox next to Microsoft Teams.
  7. A notification window will ask you to restart it. Agree.
  8. Then, try again and see if the issue persists.

If not this, something very similar.

You are close to that you have to do, problem is for many that the 'approval' is there but doesn't seem to have any effect. It is as if the program is not paying attention to the approvals.

What if the icon isn't there?  I can't click on the Microsoft Teams App if it's not there.

    Hi JHarbourne,

Thank you for posting your issue on Microsoft Community. May I know whether this issue happen after updated to Mac 10.15 version?

Does this issue happen to any other users in your organization?

Which kind of environment do you have set up? Is it Office 365 Hybrid deployment or purely Office 365 Exchange Online? Please contact your Office 365 admin to confirm the environment.

You may try to troubleshoot this issue via using different Mac *(e.g. any non-problematic user’s Mac)*to determine whether it is specific client side issue.

Regarding “The option to share ‘Desktop’ and ‘Windows’ have disappeared”, please provide us with the detailed screenshot about the issue for further analysis.

To post screenshot, please refer to steps below:

    • On the top ribbon, click on Insert Image, and then Choose File to browser the picture to upload.

    • Click Upload.

    Best regards,

    Shyamal

I see the same as the author. Not being able to screen share PDF files is making my job as a teacher extremely difficult

It's now 5 November and I still have exactly the same problem using oSX v10.15

I’ve discussed it in detail with my IT manager who is frustrated because it had functioned previously.

Full access is given to both file and screen sharing on my MacBook.

Not being able to screen-share a pdf file is somewhat frustrating in 2020.

And yes, there aren't any of these problems on the Zoom platform using a MacBook - my workaround.
