Teams calls with WH-1000XM3

Hi all,

I have an issue with my headphones (WH-1000XM3) when having teams calls probably after the last team update to version 1.5.00.28361 as it was working fine before. The issue is that I cannot use the stereo setting when on call which provides the noise cancellation feature of my headphones. Please note that this feature works fine in all the other applications I am using including youtube, skype etc.

So here are my default settings which won't give me noise cancellation.

If I switch to stereo I only hear my voice. (cannot hear the rest that is in the call)

Is it fixed? In the bug report I can see that there's official response from Microsoft, but it's locked and I cannot read it:

    https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/b27348e6-0b51-ed11-a81b-000d3a05a1b3

Do you know the version in which the bug fix is included? Was this something in MS Team at all, or the suggestion for tweaking the Ambient Sound Control in the phones app are relevant: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/wireless-headphones-bluetooth-headphones/wh-1000xm3/articles/00224945?

(Asking because for me the bug doesn't appear to be fixed, Teams version is 1.5.00.33362, already tried tweaking the ambient sound settings in the app without success.)

I've been having the exact same issue with my WH-1000XM3's with same Teams version. No issue with Zoom.

This seems to have fixed it

    • Disconnected headphones from my PC and connected to my phone to enter Sony Headphones App
    • Set Adaptive Sound Control to Off
    • Set Ambient Sound Control to On
    • In Ambient Sound Control, tap Dropdown Menu Button(down arrow) and set the Noise Canceling
    • Disconnect from phone and back to PC

Something wrong with current version of Teams and the use of Adaptive Sound control which worked fine before the Teams update.

I have exactly the same problem with my WH-1000XM3 and Teams. When a call starts ambient noise mode is activated and makes it really hard to focus on the call. It even amplifies many noises around me! My Teams was last updated on 15.11.2022 to version 1.5.00.31168 (64 bit) and I believe this behaviour started after that. I was already thinking of buying new headphones until I found this thread discussing the very same problem. I really hope this get fixed soon!
