Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
Possibly the same issue: I got used to having the noise cancelling enabled in MX3 while in meetings even though it was a bit weird at first not hearing myself properly. However, in noisy environment this was a MUST feature as otherwise I couldn't hear anything in the meeting. Now I hear myself in the meetings but I also hear the loud noise around me, which totally destroys the purpose of noise cancelling headset. This has changed in past month or so in Teams for me. This is not an issue with ANY OTHER software that captures my headset mic for meetings, recordings etc.
At least following do NOT solve the issue:
- Mute myself
- Change audio device (The same headset is shown as both "Hands-free" and "Stereo")
- Change noise suppression settings, and all the other available settings in the Teams Meeting Device settings.
- Disable "Listen to this device", disable all audio enhancements, allow/deny exclusive control in device settings
- Disable every single other mic device
- Reboot the headphones, reboot the computer
- Fiddle with the NC/Ambient/Off settings of the headphones meeting
- Update all drivers, and windows (though I still have to stick with Win10)
- Pray for some entities and curse others, then vice versa.
Luckily there is ONE way to get around this issue: Use the web version of Teams. This works because browser does the mic capturing instead of Teams app; and I believe this also proves that the root cause of the issue is in Teams app.
