I do have HP laptop (ENVY) I7 with 2 video cards which one is a Geforce GTX.
I also forced MS Teams to use the Geforce GTX but also no result.
But the main thing is, that it worked fine and suddenly it stopped working with the same laptop.
and it can't be fixed.
This is what worked for me:
- Exit Teams and Outlook
- Create a subfolder Background/Uploads in %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams folder
- Start Teams
Background effects should started appearing in your desktop app
Note that the background effects may not work for the web app version of MS teams.
I have tried this suggestion and it has NOT resolved anything for me - GRRR!
Come on Microsoft, where is your support, please?

Well this week Teams started to work ok with this background feature.
Go figure.
Maybe someone found how to (same as already made in skype) implement it without depending on heavy hardware - something that snapcam also does, it *works* only with a powerfull graphics card.
