MS Teams crashes when EOS Webcam Utility is used for Video

Hi,

I am using Microsoft Teams for my school. I am using EOS Webcam Utility (NOT Beta) with my Canon EOS 80D. It was working perfectly with video calls for school up until about two weeks ago. Now, whenever I turn on my camera in a video call (and the video setting is EOS Webcam), my Teams crashes and I get an error saying, "There was a glitch. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please sign in again."

In my school, there is an expectation that my camera is on, and my computer's webcam is unusable, so I really need this fixed, and quickly.

Thank you so much for any help you can provide.

Kane

    I have exactly the same issue with my EOS R and 1.0 Eos Webcam utility. And it started exactly on Nov 24. I was going crazy spending hours trying to fix this. Thought I did something wrong. Tried on several laptops, changed cables, Re installed the apps etc... I'm having calls everyday and need this urgently to be fixed! None of the cache erasing method explained above helped. Teams crashes instantly when starting video with the Eos Webcam or switching to it after starting the call with the laptop Webcam. Terrible.

    @microsoft: pls fix this asap.

    Did you try installing the 0.9 beta? Works 100% for me in Team as long I'm careful to select only that camera source. I detailed how to do this in earlier posts. I can have both 1.1 and 0.9 installed at the same time and I select the most compatible driver for each application.

    EDIT: Clearing the cache only temporarily corrected the issue sometimes for me, often it didn't help at all.

    Didn't work for me either but I then exited the client and clear the cache and a I now have my EOS M50 running reliably as a web cam again with Teams client Microsoft Teams Version 1.3.00.30866 (64 bit)

    I used the following method to clear the cache

    1. Quit Microsoft Teams.
    2. Cut and paste the following location into File Explorer: %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams
    3. Delete contents of the entire folder.
    4. Restart Microsoft Teams.

    Well I'll be. This seemed to work for me as well. Seems to have reset a lot of settings, but the camera seems to work with the released version of EOS utility. Hopefully it'll stay stable.

    This did not work for me at all. Still crashes.

    Same thing here. It was working a couple of hours ago then stopped working all of a sudden. Have not tried the reinstall procedure and cache clearing. Hopefully they find a fix soon. Thanks for the updates all.

    Ditto! The deletion of nearly all of the content of the Teams folder made it work for a short time. The next day I was getting no image shown with the camera and, a short time later, crashing again.
