STOP MS Teams Email Notifications

I have a work around that is working for us.

The email for the Team Group is the culprit. I get the emails, because I belong to the Z_Test Group.

Whenever a Teams calendar event occurs, an email is sent to the entire group by default. I haven't worked out how to disable this. I suspect, if we disable that, it would break something else.

My Sharepoint Site, Group and Team is called Z_Test. When I created the Team Sharepoint Site, the default email address is z_test@mydomain.

I DON'T want emails sent to: z_test@mydomain & notme@mydomain

I DO want emails sent to: z_test@mydomain & me@mydomain

We can exclude the DON'T want emails using an Outlook Rule. (Outlook Settings / View All Outlook Settings / Rules / Add New Rule

--> If you don't add the second condition, you will miss out on emails you do want.

Optionally Move To | Deleted

A very small annoyance for each user to setup, but we can then use Team Calendars, and Channels as intended, without the unwanted emails.

Any of the Channels I'm not part of, I can hide them and disable their notifications in the channel settings.

Same with me.

This feels typical to me: a Microsoft product with a very weird bug (or design flaw), and it takes YEARS for them to do something about it, if they ever fix it.

Reporting from September 2022: This is still an ongoing issue. It's very frustrating at this point. I don't understand how they can't figure this out.

Exactly the same at my large organsation; I've always has the missed activity emails switched off but they started coming through anyway a couple of weeks ago. Everyone I've spoken to is the same and our IT department can't do anything. Ridiculous and unnecessary, especially as we are now aware that every email had a carbon footprint. Apart from the annoyance of unwanted emails clogging up your inox, MS is creating and sending huge numbers of needless emails therefore contributing even more to climate change. Sort it out MS - consider how this contributes to your public image if nothing else!

I've always had "missed activity emails" turned off but now receive emails daily of activity that happens after my work hours end. Please advise on how to make these stop.
