Loud Beeping when Muted in a MS Teams Call

When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.

I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.

Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?

It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

    Work Around -

    I just changed my microphone from the headset to the laptop in Teams under settings.

    Does anyone know if the Shokz loop100 dongle works with the Shokz OpenRun headphones?

    Or does it specifically work only the OpenComm UC headsets? The beeping on MS teams is driving me crazy on mute.

    It should work with all Shokz headsets. In the event is does not, they told me they do have a 30 day return policy. The dongle solved the problem for me.

    I can concur that when I used the Windows Sound Mute and unmuted the mic in Teams just now it worked! Thank goodness the beeping was driving me up the wall. Thanks so much! Paul Salgado

    Hi all,

    I have the same issue when using MS team apps.

    But when using web option this issue not occur, so when I need to join MS team meeting I just switch to use web option, this is not best option but at least can work.
