Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
Trekz Air. Same issue. I'm new to using Teams.

When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.
I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.
Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?
It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

I decided toto purchase the Shokz Loop100 Dongle Bluetooth Adaptor as advised by other users that own a Shokz Headset and reported the loud beeping while on MUTE in a MS Teams Meeting (Desktop App). Easily connected my headset to the Bluetooth dongle, this did indeed resolve the loud beeping while muted. I am now also able to control the volume whereas before I was not able to do so using the volume controls on the headset. I will post new issues if any arise.
On the one hand, it's good this solution works.
On the other, it's more evidence that Windows handles Bluetooth and USB devices differently which doesn't seem right.
Either way, thanks for the info.
Important to note that this is not just Teams, it is Skype as well.
Also this is the Teams app only. Teams in the browser also works fine.
Windows 10 settings. Just google “reset to Microsoft recommended defaults”
