Loud Beeping when Muted in a MS Teams Call

When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.

I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.

Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?

It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

More than six months later, Teams is still unusable! When is Microsoft actually going to fix this? Using the Teams client on Win 10.

But we aren't living in the best of all possible worlds Dr. Pangloss. We are living in this one. Now, And things that used to NOT be annoying have become so due to an unwanted change. It should be reverted immediately, no further discussion required.

I fixed this issue on my Aftershokz headphones. The issue is not the headphones, it is the Mic while on mute. If you change your mic input back to your computer but leave the headphones as your speaker, then the beeping goes away while on mute.
