Loud Beeping when Muted in a MS Teams Call

When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.

I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.

Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?

It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

At the risk of feeding a troll...

Trent, you need to do a better job reading,

I said it wasn't a problem because I never muted the hardware previously. If I were to mute the hardware by my decision, I would want the beeps to remind me. But I don't do that. I mute individual applications only. So the beeps weren't a problem. Because they didn't happen.

You also ignored the full context of what I said, as my main concern, the same as many people's is that Teams is now muting my mic for all apps. And that isn't right.
