When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.
I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.
Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?
It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

I have the same problem, disconnecting the headset and re-pairing it removed the problem, while doing this I kept teams muted the whole time.
This happens only on the desktop client. I tried with the web client and no issues but joining from web is no solution when users are paying for the ease that should come with the desktop app.
My Solution...Mute in Teams,
then press the volume + en - buttons on the AfterShokz for 2 seconds, then Audry says..Mute Off...
This will unmute the Aftershokz headset, but Teams will keep the mute on...
This works for me....
Thx m8t, it works for me too. Seems my toughts was true: the Teams send "mute yourself" command to the headset when pressing the mute in SW - but it cant disable...
