When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.
I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.
Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?
It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

lol, the beeps come from the device. Not from MS Teams. The voice saying mute is the Shokz voice. The beeps are the sounds from the headset. You said a lot based on inaccurate info.

solved it. while muted on Teams, press the volume + and - buttons at the same time. you remain muted but the annoying beeping disappears.
My Shockz opencom headset that i have have for 6 months and has been working fine with teams all this time just started to make the beep sound last month when selecting mute in Teams, This happend after a microsoft update and is very annoying.
Please dont banter back and forth with Know it alls on here its obviouse from above and all the other poste that it was a microsoft update that is causing the headset to beep on pause.
