Loud Beeping when Muted in a MS Teams Call

You should research the actual cause before offering a solution. The actual cause has been documented in this chat a few pages back. This is a gain issue in Teams, which MS rightly so increased. It allows mute while allowing manufacturer's audio to be heard. MS should not be muting the manufacturer's intent. The manufacturer should not be putting features on their headsets that is obtrusive with no focus group testing. This problem is 100% headphone maker's fault. MS just exposed it by allowing it.

I disagree. Microsoft should not be manipulating the hardware setting - causing the device to mute. And if they do, they should provide an override to this "feature" - Note the comments for those who use the headset for voice navigation due to a disability. MS has made it so their ability to voice navigate is turned off when they mute in teams. Those with disabilities should be able to multi-task like the rest of us.

And... with their microphone now turned off for all applications, how do they un-mute in teams? Focus group that Microsoft.

Plus, I never had a problem hearing manufacturer's audio while Teams was muted previously. I could always press headset buttons to hear current battery life or get headset volume change indications.

My understanding from the previous posts was that MS had been dropping the gain on Teams to mute mic input which they changed to setting an OS wide mute, which in turn mutes Bluetooth hardware, but not USB hardware. Love the consistency. =/

Regardless of the technical implementation though, the simple reality is that Teams now mutes my Bluetooth mics for all other applications which I believe is much less usable. I agree that MS made a poor decision to maybe be technically "pure" (?) instead shooting for better usability.
