When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.
I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.
Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?
It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

Though that is A solution, that is not a good solution. I have one USB port on this laptop and have no interest in getting a USB extender.
Yep, they are hypnotizing you to buy more Shokz products.
I'm Using OpenComm by Shokz as well. I found this note on another website. It worked for me. I thought I would share.
Temporary Fix for AfterShokz OpenMove I checked in w/AfterShokz customer support and they sent me a great reply. I tried it and it actually works. I am currently able to use the mute button now on Teams w/o that crazy annoying beep after doing the following. Step 1: Reset Your Headphones 1. Start with your headphones powered off and cleared from your device's Bluetooth settings. 2. Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the volume button for 5-7 seconds until the LED flashes red and blue and you may hear Audrey announce "Pairing." 3. Press and hold the multifunction button located on the earpiece, the volume button, and volume- button (all three buttons) simultaneously for 3-5 seconds. You'll hear two beeps and/or feel two vibrations. 4. Turn your headphones off to complete the reset. 5. Your headphones are now reset and can be connected to your device. Step 2: Mute the setting on your actual Device. 1. After joining a meeting, open Device setting on MS Teams. 2. Mute yourself. Keep the Device setting window open. 3. After 10sec, you will hear "mute off" though you did nothing. You are still muted, but no more continuous beep. 4. Don't close Device setting window. You need it open whenever you mute yourself, otherwise beep will resume. NOTE: I part 4 of Step 2 last night, then this morning when I came back in and joined a meeting I was able to use the Mute on Teams normally and did not experience the beeping. I did not need to open the settings on Teams and Mute the device anymore. Hope it works for you!
They sent you a dongle? They wanted to sell me one, for $50. I didn't even reply to that suggestion.
