Loud Beeping when Muted in a MS Teams Call

When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.

I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.

Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?

It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

Same issue with my Bluetooth headset as Nelsey_H_ (and many others across other threads..... two beeps while muted all of a sudden.

I have tried multiple recommendations from multiple threads on this issue... installed latest MS Updates, tried muting from multiple buttons/options, and many other things. I have reported through the Teams App as Shyamal recommended. Can Microsoft please provide a solution to this ?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Nelsy_H,

May I know whether this issue happen on using both Teams web client and Teams desktop client?

If you are using Teams desktop client then try to use the Teams web client (https://teams.microsoft.com) via Incognito/InPrivate browsing window with latest Chrome/Edge Chromium to check this issue. It will help us determine whether it is specific Teams desktop client side issue.

Moreover, I would suggest you please report it to our dedicated developer team directly via Teams app. Tap Help (?)> Report a problem

Note: Your account need proper permission to report a problem within the Teams app. If you don't see "Report a problem" please contact your company Office 365 admin for further assistance.

Your patience and understanding will be highly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Shyamal
