Loud Beeping when Muted in a MS Teams Call

When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.

I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.

Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?

It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

Sorry to hear that but I did not have trouble with them on this. After I described the issue, they told me that they would send the dongle to me for free for resolving this issue. That was , may be, two months ago, not sure why they would not do that again. Try agian may be it's the issue with whoever answering the phone!

I used TP link dogle before when I had this annoying issue. Everything is working fine with the Aftershokz's dongle.

I tried that over a month ago & even screen shot this thread where people were being sent them. Shokz "customer support" refused to resolve the issue by sending the adapter.

Even more irritated that it still doesn't work. I try to connect it to my laptop & I cannot use the sound settings. Something is up with the type of adapter I think.

*** BRILLIANT *** I have a Polytronic BT600 wireless headset and while in the Teams call switching in the teams settings once to the PC microphone and then back to the BT600 solved the SUPER-ANNYONG-DOUBLE-BEEP-FOR-NOTHING-THANK-YOU-MICROSOFT issue... looking forward to the behavior in the next call and if this "hack" needs to be done in every call... but at least it seems to be a "solution".

I have the same problem with my Bluetooth headset. What an annoying problem. Where is the solution MS? The weird sequence of button pressing does not solve the problem.

Well, sorry to hear that you have already paid for it.

For all other AfterShokz OpenComm users out there:

You shouldn't have to pay for that! Just call the AfterShokz support and describe this issue and ask them to send the dongle to you for free.
