When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.
I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.
Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?
It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

Hmmm. I had a different issue, headphone beeped every 5-10 seconds when muted - but it was similar as it was due to an MS software update. I figured it was worth a shot.
How did you manage to send you a new dongle?
When contacted them about the same issue and requested a dongle, they refused to send me one and wrote this to me:
"Actually, this is the setting of the headphone. It is a mute reminder of your headphone. Since it is a factory setting, there is no way to change/turn off it by the end user.
We will forward your request to engineering. Hope this could be canceled in the future"

It's a shame to need more hardware... as it was fine until yesterday when I got a Microsoft update... and now it beeps... so it has to be a software issue somewhere.
Try reaching out to Aftershokz. They solved my issue by sending me a dongle.
Same for me. Aftershokz headset has been fine until yesterday. I'm also running Teams 1.5.00.28361. Now I get audible notifications of mute on and mute off, which I never had before, and this annoying loud double-beep whilst on mute.
Please can this be fixed!
