When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.
I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.
Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?
It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

I received the same reply from Aftershoksz.
Seems this problem of intermittent double tone during a teams call has been reported with multiple headsets over several years. I have not changed my setup at all and experienced it for the first time today.
SOLUTION: It seems this is resulting from a double mute... Teams is muted and the headset is muted. I resolved easily by depressing both the + & - buttons on my headset simultaneously to take off the headset mute. By repeating the process I can bring the problem back. I think it is a "feature" from aftershocks to remind you that you are muted.
Enjoy!
Shokz OpenCom - same here but with version: "You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.5.00.28567 (64-bit). It was last updated on 28.10.2022."
It is the same issue i have, beeps every 5 seconds when muted. And surely it came after an MS update. So i wonder how people got Aftershokz to send them a dongle for this issue, as my answer was that it is an hardware as-is- issue.
