When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.
I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.
Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?
It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

I have the same problem
I found a work around that worked for me. In microsoft teams I selected call my phone with my aftershok linked to the phone not the PC. then you can unmute in in teams and use the mute on the phone and the beep goes away.
Thank you so much!!!!!!
Hi everyone.
I'm unsubscribing from this post, because it's being repetitive.
I just will describe mi situation, if it can helps:
I used for Teams calls a Sennheiser MOMENTUM In-Ear Wireless, without any problems, I could mute myself, and everything worked perfectly, until some months ago (I don't remember the month exactly, may be september/october 2022) when the beep when muted problem appeared, with no solution (someone told upgrading the headset firmware could help, but the model I own can't be updated). Last december I bought a Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3, and they work perfectly with Teams.
My guess: MS updated something (an API call or something like that) that's too new, and only newer bluetooth headsets support it, unless they can be upgraded. My old Sennheiser MOMENTUM In-Ear Wireless works perfectly in Linux or Android, the issue is only in Windows.
Good luck with this!
I think Microsoft will not be fixing this in the current Teams client. They will release Teams 2.x late March.
