When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.
I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.
Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?
It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

This is not an option in open-plan offices where many of us work, which necessitates the need for the headsets in the first place.
I had the same issue with my Bluetooth headset - Sennheiser brand. I disconnected them, and plugged in my Bose wired, in-ear headphones directly into my laptop and the beeping has stopped completely while on mute. Still looking for a solution to the wireless Sennheiser headset.
Maybe we should think on stop using Teams... seriously not possible, since my organization is using it, but makes me think about it if the decision depends on me in the future
I cannot believe this is a case... I was using some cheap headphones for 2 years, now I upgraded to better headphones and have this beeping issue - worked 1 day - second day beeping started - VERY frustrating..
my temporary solution is to change the microphone to my laptop while on calls - and swap to headphones while I speak but this is very poor solution - cannot see why MS Teams are not working hard to solve this... they will not stop people using not approved headphones especially now when people are checking twice before they spend their money..
