Loud Beeping when Muted in a MS Teams Call

When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.

I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.

Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?

It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

    I find that the LOUD BEEPING due to muting the mic only happens while I am using the actual MS Teams Desktop Application. If I use the MS Teams WebApp the beeping while muted does not happen. This is extremely annoying & disruptive. I do not like using the WebApp as it does not have the NOISE CANCELING ability as that of the desktop app. This was not always the case & thus I can only imagine that due to bad coding & testing a buggy release of MS Teams was made available. Fix this issue, this has been going on long enough.
    **BTW...**you can give FEEDBACK within the MS Teams Desktop App but not REPORT A PROBLEM....so I've also posted the same details above in the Give Feedback link within the Desktop App.

    While I havent read all 20 pages of this thread hence perhaps this solution is already in the thread?

    I have been dealing with this issue on some AfterShokz headphones for six months, it's extremely annoying.

    ·8 mo. ago Gold I'd been having the problem with my Shokz and today found a location. If I put Teams on mute it starts beeping, so I unmute the headphones by holding the + and - buttons for 2 seconds. I get the "mute off" but Teams stayed muted and there was no beeping.

    This solution worked for me, hallelujah!

    More than six months later, Teams is still unusable! When is Microsoft actually going to fix this? Using the Teams client on Win 10.

    it's a temporary solution, once mute and start beeping press together the volume buttons + and - , it will stop beeping and remain muted
