Stopping the microphone from automatically adjusting level

Every time I run a meeting in the Teams app, my microphone level automatically gets set to 100%. 

I have set the communications option in the control panel to do nothing and there appears to be no option in the app to stop it from doing this. I have a sensitive microphone that requires low gain - this is very frustrating as I am using it to teach lessons remotely.

Any ideas?

    So any fix for this? Teams is basically useless. It randomly decides to basically mute my microphone... Only completely quitting the application, manually crank the microphone volume, then restarting teams help sometimes.

    Why do I even pay for this service? To get ignored?

    I've found the same solution by using the NVIDIA Voice app for background noise filtering. It acts as a virtual mic and Teams doesn't mess with the volume.

    However, occasionally it crashes and Teams reverts to the USB mic, and turns the volume/gain from 95% to 35%, and no one can hear me. It really needs sorting out, Teams should either respect the Windows setting about not taking over the mic, or have it's own setting for NOT automatically adjusting the volume.

    Okay guys, 

    This is how you fix this problem. Plug your headphones into something else other than your Blue yeti mic. You won't hear the static. Also the others don't hear your level. I personally asked my colleagues about it. It's just a microphone issue. If you microphone plays back what it hears through its headphone jack.

    The problem that we have been reporting has nothing to do with what you have posted.  The gain (recording level) on a Blue Yeti is a hardware control on the mic, Teams doesn't change it.  On microphones where the gain is controlled via software (like my RODE Podcaster), Teams is constantly raising and lowering the gain.  On a Teams call, to other attendees, I sound like I have muted myself.

    The Visual A-B cable driver works for us because it doesn't allow Teams to change the recording level.

    Hello S Panayi,

    Welcome.

    Please press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box, then type "mmsys.cpl" > click Recording tab in the Sound window > select the used microphone, then click Properties button > in the Properties page, click Level tab> manually set to 50 > click Advanced tab > uncheck the Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device option under Exclusive Mode section.

    This did not work at all. Please allow an option in settings, it's as simple as that. I don't want to ear rape the people I'm talking to.
