shokz headset beeping on mute during Teams meetings

After the latest Teams update a couple of weeks ago, my shokz headset started making a loud beep 2 times every 10 seconds when I am on mute. How can I stop this beep?

I have found a fix, temporary I hope. I installed Virtual Audio cables VB-Audio Virtual Cables and configured my sound and Teams setting to route through the virtual cable, and when the host mutes us it does not affect the Opencomm headset, it only mutes the inbound audio. Hopefully, this will be fixed by Shokz or MS.

I see this is still an ongoing issue, the Virtual Audio Cables fix I posted on 10/11/2022 still works, I'm using TEAMS every workday now and I've not had an issue with beeping or needing to change any other settings within TEAMS or Windows, after the first configuring. This fix does not appear to interfere with any other settings, I use ZOOM, Skype, and Google Voice without any issues.

What's difference between routing audio to inbound audio directly and this installing audio virtual cables?

The constant beep makes it impossible to use the microphone on my shokx. The solution I'm using is to have my webcam as the microphone and just use my Shokx as the speakers. Very unsatisfactory but better than the beeping every 10 seconds.
