Teams away setting automatically switching on when not away

Hi there,

My teams status is constantly switching to "away" while I am working on my computer. This is very frustrating as my co-workers need to know when I am actually away or available.

Is there a manual override for this? It would be excellent to be able to set it as available so that my team knows they can reach my even if I am working on paper, or in this case if it has switched itself to "away".

Thanks!

This happens when viewing a file in Teams, I was reading it and saw it go to away.

Classic Microsoft. Months go by with dozens of people reporting the issue, and still no fix or real response.

I have discovered 2 tricks to keep the Teams from show idle -

    1. in a chat with yourself or someone no longer with the company, put a weight on your space bar so it keeps typing
    2. start a video meeting with yourself (on mute and no camera) then share your screen. it will appear you are presenting and not go idle.

    You're welcome! :)

thanks but #1 won't work if I am working on other items like in excel. and #2 that will show as busy all the time and if someone tries to call they can't because on a bogus call, but interesting may try it.

strange thing is yesterday it was changing my status every 10 minutes to away while I was working on computer and today so far it hasn't changed.  it is different issues day by day - so strange

I am also having this same issue. Skype did not have this issue. It is switching to away while I am active and working at my computer, but not active in Teams.
