Teams away setting automatically switching on when not away

Hi there,

My teams status is constantly switching to "away" while I am working on my computer. This is very frustrating as my co-workers need to know when I am actually away or available.

Is there a manual override for this? It would be excellent to be able to set it as available so that my team knows they can reach my even if I am working on paper, or in this case if it has switched itself to "away".

Thanks!

I am experiencing the Away status appearing even when I am active and working on my computer. I've tried minimizing Teams as well as keeping it open on my desktop but it constantly shows me Away even as I'm typing on my computer. This is an issue and not cool.

Edit 2: Running Skype for Business in the system icon area as a background app seems to keep Teams alive. I know not everyone has that ability but it seems to be working if you do.

I appreciate the fact that I just got another update today for MS Teams, and this disaster of a problem STILL HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED! IT HAS BEEN MONTHS!

I Truly hope whoever is ignoring this issue on the MS Teams staff sits on a rotating cactus for as long as this issue lasts.

Had the same problem and managed to find a solution.

In windows settings, there is a setting called Focus Assist - turn it off and turn all automatic rules and it should work as this was affecting ma teams status and changing it to away

This started happening to me a lot more frequently after moving to Teams-only mode from Skype for Business for our phones last week.

This seemed to fix it for me (so far):

Uninstall Teams from the Control Panel.

    Delete the C:\Users*username*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams folder.

Download and install Teams from Microsoft (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/download-app).

Open Teams and click the profile picture and "Check for updates".

Click the "Refresh" prompt in the banner to relaunch Teams when the updates were finished.
