Multiple windows for MS Teams?

Why doesn't MS Teams support multiple windows?  It stands to reason that if you are on multiple chats, editing a file, and trying to join a meeting, you don't want to leave each ongoing action behind to go to the next, and shuffle around try to find where you left off in each section later.  Even separate windows for chat would be a huge help, or allowing a meeting to launch a new window outside of Teams and leave whatever you were working on in the original window.  Most people use multiple windows and multiple monitors to multi-task, and I'm surprised that the only way Teams seems to allow this is to run some of your windows out of a browser?  Is there help coming to make this a more productive tool?  This feels like a downgrade from Skye for Business...

    UserVoice forums are generally a bit of a mess, with the same suggestion getting multiple threads, but this one is ridiculous.

    Here is the most voted thread:

    As you can see, the request was for "chats and more" and it got over 21,000 votes. Microsoft implemented the ability to pop out chats (not teams posts), and marked it complete. I'd bet that thousands of those votes were from users who wanted other tabs to be able to become separate windows, not just chats. There are pages of comments on that thread since it was marked "complete" clamoring for more options for multiple windows.

    Then there's this pop out meeting thread, which garnered over 1,200 votes and got implemented:

    Is there a way to address this in UserVoice? I would guess that moderators there don't pay attention to comments or starting a new thread asking them to combine threads. The issue with 21,000 votes for "chat and more" is the most egregious. If half of those people wanted "and more", this idea should be on the first page of the "Top Ideas" now.

    You would think Microsoft uses Teams and their employees would be having these same problems. I have a document open and someone chats me. If I open the chat the document closes and I have to go find it and open it again when I'm done with the chat. This has to frustrate Microsoft employees too.

    Oh, c'mon. Another MS rush-developed, resource-hungry, and underperformed product. You crippled classic Skype to force using another underdeveloped product. Obviously, someone erased Your memory, what every basic product must have, to be usable. Sorry, the development team and Your SW architects act like a bunch of teenagers and maybe is time someone tells You that fact. Do something. Users begging for functionality, but obviously, You are unable to deliver solutions for users. It's better for You playing with yourself obviously and constantly bother customers with underperformed hollow UX changes.

    I agree that this is vital to the adoption of Teams. I am on Teams with multiple organizations. If I'm on a Teams conference call in one organization, I can't even go look at content from another one of the other organizations. I need the ability to view another Teams organization in a separate window, not just a chat for the current organization. PLEASE!

    Unfortunately the linked User Voice case refers to the ability to pop out a chat window. This isn't the functionality I came looking for and it seems it's not for other users, either. A simple ability to open multiple windows of Teams is exactly what I'm looking for.
