Opening Teams app using link on a Mac

Hi,

When I get a link in an e-mail on my Mac (using outlook as e-mail client), neither Safari nor Chrome recognize that I have the desktop app installed and I can only view using the web app.  Any ideas on how to solve this?  My IT department is no help on this.  I have reinstalled Teams multiple times, rebooted, etc.

    I have exactly the opposite problem. I have Office 365 accounts through two organizations. For one of them, I need to use Teams within a Chrome browser (on a Mac). For the other one, which I had first, I use the desktop app. When I click on a Teams link, it takes me to Chrome and displays a page of options: open Teams inside a window in Chrome or use the desktop Teams app. That's fine with me, since I'd like to be able to choose on a case-by-case basis. But then, with no action on my part, it always opens the desktop app (which also automatically starts ChromaCam no matter what my camera device setting is - I'd like to know how to stop that, too.). I can't remember how I set this default action or even whether it's a Chrome setting or a Teams setting. All I can find on the web are instructions to set a default for opening files within Teams, not how to set a default for opening Teams itself. Hoping the answer to this one might shed light on the opposite problem.

    Same here. I click on a link to a Teams meeting and it askes to open an app but the only think it wants is a windows app. SO then it launches my VMware. But my Teams is not installed there.

    Same (very similar?) issue here: All my Teams links in Outlook open in my web browser (Google Chrome) instead of opening Teams directly, with that same request for me to "download and install Teams" or "Already have the Teams app? Launch it now".

    If all other apps know how to talk to each other directly, why can't Outlook at Teams?
