Opening Teams app using link on a Mac

I have the same issue on Mac - all working fine until about a week ago. Uninstalling and re-installing the Teams app has made no difference. Nor has clearing the Identities Cache using the instructions provided in another thread on this issue. I need a fix quickly as most of my clients use MS Teams as their default.

Someone from Microsoft... please help!

The fact is that paying customers need to punish Microsoft for ignoring defects like this. We PAY for Microsoft's service, and it's broken. Therefore I'm going to direct our company to stop paying until it's fixed.

Not if a user doesn't have Chrome installed. Safari is the Mac browser. This concept of 'Try another browser' is never a solution for a user, it's a goal for the developer.

I can't get many Mac users to install Chrome as an MSP, and that's their choice.

I have a new up-to-date Macbook Pro and I ran into this exact problem today. Up until this afternoon, when I clicked on a Teams invitation in the agenda the Teams app opened without any problem. Now when I click on a Teams invitation in the agenda, Safari opens up with three options: 1. install teams, 2. continue in browser, 3. open Teams-app. Nothing happens when I click on 3. I can use Teams in the browser (option 2) but then miss important features such as sharing my screen and blurring my background. Apple support was actually quite helpful in leading me to this page. Rather bizarre that MS is not helpful at all in this matter.

It would be really terrific if someone from Microsoft would actually RESPOND to this. A bunch of "me too" posts are a waste of my time and attention. I believe this is being caused by some global default setting in macOS, but I don't know yet where to look. If I figure it out, I will post the solution here.
