No sound when entering a Meeting on Teams

Hello,

I have observed on numerous occasions that when I enter a Meeting on the Microsoft Teams Windows app (with my Mic and Camera off, because it is university related and someone else is presenting) I can't hear anything. It doesn't happen all the time. I have tried entering the Meeting again and sometimes it works and I can hear. I have also opened the Volume mixer and that was not the issue (the Meeting was note muted). I even tried reinstalling the App. This only happens in a Meeting, not a private call with someone else and only on the Windows app, not the browser. I would like to use the App though, so does anyone know how I can solve this?

Thank you in advance!

Hello, I have a similar issue : When joining some external meetings (not within my company) I sometimes have a no sound issue, in fact my computer shows a red cross near to speaker symbol, meaning there is no device for sound...

When I disconnect from meeting and try to reconnect, everything is blocked.

Only way I found to solve this was to open meeting on my mobile app, then for some reason sounds come back on my computer and I can close meeting on app.

Any clue on what could be done ?

Trying some other way is not really a solution though. The desktop product should work as intended. I’ve not experienced the problem for some time now though so potentially updates have resolved it.

Originally, I did not get audio when I logged into Microsoft and running Teams from within Office 365.

So I did get Teams working with audio by exiting the call, going into Gmail using Chrome, then opening Teams from Google Calendar just using the meeting link. I guess you can use a meeting link by pasting it into the top of your browser. This uses Teams through Chrome but I do have Teams installed locally. Originally, I had to install Teams during this process of opening the meeting link. It then gave me a choice to open using Browser or opening Teams. I chose Browser and Teams opened, I joined the meeting and got audio.

I think this worked because it was just a different way of entering Teams by just using the meeting link. But you might try some other method of getting into the Teams meeting.

I have checked everything. I have other zoom meetings the audio works fine it is one specific class (I used to take it all last year and it was fine) that won't let me hear it. The organizers on the other end did everything they know, everybody on the other end can hear it, I cannot. I have uninstalled an reinstalled, I have turned it off and on, I have checked all my settings. Outside Teams audio is just fine, it is that one meeting that I cannot get an audio for. What could that be?
