No sound when entering a Meeting on Teams

Hello,

I have observed on numerous occasions that when I enter a Meeting on the Microsoft Teams Windows app (with my Mic and Camera off, because it is university related and someone else is presenting) I can't hear anything. It doesn't happen all the time. I have tried entering the Meeting again and sometimes it works and I can hear. I have also opened the Volume mixer and that was not the issue (the Meeting was note muted). I even tried reinstalling the App. This only happens in a Meeting, not a private call with someone else and only on the Windows app, not the browser. I would like to use the App though, so does anyone know how I can solve this?

Thank you in advance!

I am having the same problem, and it appears to be a systemic problem with Microsoft Teams that has persisted for some time. The large volume of suggestions that require user action and apparently have not worked is unfortunate. Both Google Meet and Zoom are much easier to use and do not require such complicated user actions to fix issues. Those companies appear to resolve reported problems quickly, but maybe they just have fewer issues.

I'll give MS one more shot to fix it, then on to something more user friendly.

Same problem here. I run on a Mac on native app, no browser. I connect to a meeting, and I use bluetooth headphones. I can hear the call sound and as I connect, the sounds disappears and I cannot hear people in the call for at least 30 secs, but they can hear me. The headphones definitely work. Restarting the call usually makes the trick.

This is a very annoying issue. I have never had ay issue in the past with Slack. Any feedback from MS??

I am currently working with the same issue , I am speaking and giving info yet and the mic is taking it , I am hearing clear  responses in Teams and appreciating visible results, with the recent upgrade MS offered.

I have the same issue. I do a test call and everything works OK but, in a live call, there is no sound. I use Teams for work and they use a VDI (Horizonware). I usually end up dropping out of the VDI and connecting to Teams directly. This means Teams works but I lose the ability to look at documents etc in the work environment.

You more than likely need to update the drivers for you Plantronics headset. March 2020 Plantronics issued a new update to work with Teams. This is more than likely not a Teams issue. Plantronics needs specific drivers to work with Teams.
