No sound when entering a Meeting on Teams

Hello,

I have observed on numerous occasions that when I enter a Meeting on the Microsoft Teams Windows app (with my Mic and Camera off, because it is university related and someone else is presenting) I can't hear anything. It doesn't happen all the time. I have tried entering the Meeting again and sometimes it works and I can hear. I have also opened the Volume mixer and that was not the issue (the Meeting was note muted). I even tried reinstalling the App. This only happens in a Meeting, not a private call with someone else and only on the Windows app, not the browser. I would like to use the App though, so does anyone know how I can solve this?

Thank you in advance!

I've got this exact same issue.

I get Windows OS system sounds and Teams App sounds via standard notification sounds and calls. But the meeting has zero audio. Test call returns audio as expected.

Checked Teams admin console, it states audio for the meeting as complete with no error codes.

I'm wondering if this is a malfunction in a specific app setting:

Turn on new meeting experience (new meetings and calls will open in separate windows. Requires restarting Teams.)

Maybe it's not switching audio to the meeting window when it's opened as a new window.

For everyone having this issue with the app having audio but not in the meeting itself, is that setting turned on or off when this happens?

You might want to have a look at this. I'm experiencing the same problem just now and it's not a local issue, it moves between devices. It's almost like the voice session for the shared meeting isn't reaching my profile. It works when it's a 1:1 call, I suspect the poster above was also experiencing this only when joining shared meetings.

This has become a wide-spread issue for the school where I teach. Large meetings are typically ok, however when we enter 1:1 meetings with students, the staff are unable to hear the students on the other end. This is a clear issue that is not related to individual microphone or camera settings. I look forward to this problem being fixed asap so we are able to use Teams to teach our students.

So is there any update on this Microsoft, or have you swept it under the carpet and hope it deals with itself. Here we are 2 months later and after asking the completely retarded questions and finding that people are a little smarter than you give them credit for. How about now you actually work on the issue.

I am also getting this same problem. The setting named above is turned on. Please look into this MS!
