OK.. I think I may have found the solution. When sharing your screen many tiles show up for you to share. Some of these tiles are under 2 categories DESKTOP and WINDOW. Make your selection for the screen you want to share under DESKTOP NOT WINDOW. This selection made my screen not flicker anymore.

After much testing with my company's Windows images, the issue seems to be related to Windows version 1909. If you search "winver" in the search box on the bottom left hand corner of your screen, you will be able to see what Windows version you are on. Any version before 1909 should not have the problem. After I upgraded many of our laptop models with Windows 1909, I was able to recreate the issue each time. This issue mainly occurred with PDF's and Autocad files. Currently in the middle of testing Windows version 2004 to see if it occurs on that version as well or not.

    Hi

We had similar issue, when sharing applications over Microsoft teams. The upper menu bar will flickers if we use Share "Window" and does not flicker if we  Share "Desktop"

A quick search found that Microsoft has recently released a patch that addresses this issue. Which we have just tested and confirmed it did fixed the screen flickering issue for window sharing in teams.

If you are using Windows 10 download KB4559003:

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4559003

    KB explain:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/4559003/windows-10-update-kb4559003

I hope this helps you too.

*we found out the above only applied to Windows 10 1809.

    Regards

    Jason

I can't replicate the flickering on my work PC, but on another machine we have, it flickers all day.

    Program tested: Google Earth Pro

    My PC (Doesn't flicker):

AMD Ryzen 3700U w/Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx

    HD Display (1920 x 1080)

    Other PC (Flickers):

    Intel i7-6500U

Intel 520 chipset + Dedicated Nvidia GPU (Flickers using either or)

    4K display (3840 x 2160)

Has anyone experienced any similarities with the above? Maybe a 4K issue (scaling)? AMD vs. Intel? I did try different resolutions and scaling options, even DPI settings, but nothing.

I can resolve the flickering by using the "share desktop" option instead of sharing the program window. Kind of defeats the purpose of having the option of "Window" though!

Has anyone tried opening a case with Microsoft and see what they have to say?

I have epilepsy and hence started the original question. It is quite bad. That said, as long as you maximise your program window on your desktop, the solution posted does work quite well. And its the only way you can allow other people to be given access to your screen to point to things.
