Recent update to Teams causes beeping in headset when on mute

Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.

Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.

This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It Works! I can't believe it! The Setting is in Teams.

    The only way that you are going to fix the Aftershockz /Trex headphones beeping in teams is to buy the Dongle from Aftershockz /Trex. Microsoft does not give a **** about what is happening with the beeping.

    I just noticed an update on a separate thread about the same issue.

    The person there recommended going into Settings / Devices and disabling the "Sync device buttons" option. They indicated that if it didn't work the first time - re-enable and then disable again just to clear the setting.

    I gotta say... This worked for me on the first disable (ie I didn't have to do it twice) . I'm running an Aftershokz Opencomms headset and... No more beeping while muted. Can someone sanity check me on this? I feel like it can't be this easy... Either that or MS stealth launched a fix and didn't tell anyone?

    I concur, it works.

    Definitely a MicroStealth fix somewhere in the last several patches.

    But I don't care! It's finally fixed.
