Recent update to Teams causes beeping in headset when on mute

Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.

Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.

This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

After another update of HD-450BT firmware, beeps are gone (for the time being). I hope no additional surprise with beep comeback.

Agreed. This is an open headset that is absolutely necessary for some of us. I cannot have anything sitting on my ears. Seriously "use an approved device". This device worked fine for a year - no issues.

    Please fix this.

This might have been mentioned elsewhere, but I found that if I use a web browser (Chrome) to join meetings instead of the Teams app I do not hear any beeping, etc. This works for now, but I would prefer to use the Teams app without the beeping.

Hope this helps some of you.

That is honestly the only 100% work-around I've found. Until we got one of the Shokz wireless adapters. It took some noodling around to to change settings so notifications and phone calls came through the web app instead of the desktop program, but it worked fine after I got it dialed in.
