Recent update to Teams causes beeping in headset when on mute

Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.

Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.

This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

    I suggest this circumvention:

(Turn hands-free telephony back on if its off)

Start Teams, click the "..." next to your profile picture (top right) then ==> "settings" ==> "devices" then select your preferred "Speaker" setting (mine is Aftershokz Hands-Free...) ALSO: pull-down the "Microphone" setting(s) to select the Windows/hardware mic in your laptop (on my Lenovo, mine is "Microphone Array (Intel Smart Sound..." ).

This setting has the downside of tethering your mic to your laptop, so you have to be close when your talking but it does not beep when you mute in Teams, and you still get your audio through your headset.

    Hello

    I'm using Microsoft Teams est 1.5.00.31168 (32 bits) . last update 16/11/2022.

since then i have a really annoying double bip in my POLY V4220 bluetooth headset when i'm connected with it.

Mute or not mute, online, in a call ,or not doesn't change the issue always that permanent BIP BIP !

This comes from TEAMS only, i have no other issue with that headset connected to any other app, like a bluetooth smartphone for example

Please do a Teams update roll back , it's just unthinkable to have update not tested !!

MS$ do software since the 90' , you should know how to test your products before releasing any version !
