Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It Works! I can't believe it! The Setting is in Teams.

Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.
Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.
This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

Hi Dave
My name is Daniel. I will be more than happy to assist you.
As a fellow MS Community forum user, I understand you need assistance to solve this issue.
I'm wondering whether you are experiencing the same issue when using MS Teams online.
Please follow these steps below to isolate the issue:
Are you experiencing the same issue when you are using MS Teams online from your computer?
May I know, what's the manufacturer of the headset? What's the model/series?

Hi Daniel,
Ok - so I do not get the beeping problem when using the browser version of Teams.
I am using an Aftershokz Opencomm headset, which has been working perfectly for some months. This issue has only appeared recently in the Teams desktop app - which reports "Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.26376 (32-bit). It was last updated on 11/10/2021."
There appear to be a number of identical threads and questions in this and other forums - a recent update to Teams has changed the behaviour between Teams and the Aftershokz OpenComm headset to cause the headset to announce "mute on" and "mute off" when muting/unmuting in Teams; and during mute the headset is beeping loudly.
This new behaviour makes the OpenComm headset essentially unusable. If you do have any influence or route into Microsoft then my understanding is that all Aftershokz OpenComm headset users are desperate for this to be resolved!
Using the web version of Teams is interesting as an idea.
Thanks,
Dave
Unfortunately, Aftershokz OpenCommis not a certified device for the MS Team desktop app, therefore you get inconsistent results. I always suggest users use the certified device only. The following article shows a list of certified devices. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams...
Having said that, you can try the following troubleshooting tips in the following article below by using VoiceMeeter as a virtual microphone for the MS Team app. So basically The VoiceMeeter will act as a "bridge" between your headset and MS Team and see how it goes. Please visit this link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/for...
However, if the problems still per still persist then please use a certified device only.
To be honest, I personally don't have influence, I'm just a regular forum user like you. However, I can show you a route on how to reach out to MS Support for further investigation. As business account users, you are entitled to the more advanced support you deserve, please take advantage of the opportunity.
With that said, there are 2 alternatives to reach out to MS Support:
Alternative 1.
Please visit the following link, scroll down, and select your country from the dropdown list: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/admi...
Alternative 2: Via MS 365 admin center.
If you have MS 365 license you can go to https://admin.microsoft.com select support > New service request. You can choose whether you want to receive support via email or phone support. However, if you don't have MS 365 license then you need to reach out to your admin and ask the admin to open a new support ticket. This is optional, If necessary you can request your admin to put your number as the preferred contact method so MS Support can call your number. See the demo video below:

Thanks Daniel - voicemeeter looks interesting.
Yes you're correct we are a business user so I should have access through that channel.
Thanks for the list of certified devices - sadly nothing that's got the great "open ear" design like the OpenComm I'm using - which was awesome up until this issue! Super comfortable and light, and you can hear what's going around you as well as being able to hear the call clearly and hear yourself speak so you can modulate voice levels... So fed up with people nearby yelling at their laptop because they have closed-in headphones on and can't hear themselves!
Anyway - thanks for the help. Cheers!
