Recent update to Teams causes beeping in headset when on mute

Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.

Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.

This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

Hi, i heard about that issue and was wondering that i don´t have this problem with my Aftershockz OpenComm. But since today, during the day, i got this issue now! This is so enoying! This makes, as written before, the headset unusable! And really, because this is why it is not certified? It has worked before for months. And Aftershockz are not the cheapest headsets. Why should i buy anotherone? I´m using TEAMS intensively for work and here my headset allows me to be "mobile" in the office via PC/Phone. And now, from one second to another it is not usable anymore? Crazy.

sorry guys, i know you are not personally responsible for this, but this is a NO GO for me from MS.

Same headset and issue here.... Seems I found how to go around this annoying issue. I do not connect directly to the PC Bluetooth, I use a dongle from other headset as my PC is very stuttery with BT audio devices. Dongle works better for calls, but I still had the same beep when using it with the aftershokz opencomm. Using the dongle software (I found that a Jabra dongle worked best) I went to the dongle settings and under softphone I disabled the softphone integration. So audio still works but you disable the call control from the headset (I would rather have it this way vs the annoying beep when on mute)

Thanks Daniel - voicemeeter looks interesting.

Yes you're correct we are a business user so I should have access through that channel.

Thanks for the list of certified devices - sadly nothing that's got the great "open ear" design like the OpenComm I'm using - which was awesome up until this issue! Super comfortable and light, and you can hear what's going around you as well as being able to hear the call clearly and hear yourself speak so you can modulate voice levels... So fed up with people nearby yelling at their laptop because they have closed-in headphones on and can't hear themselves!

Anyway - thanks for the help. Cheers!
