Recent update to Teams causes beeping in headset when on mute

Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.

Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.

This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

You might look into any type of bluetooth dongle - I'm using an old Jabra (Jabra 370) and it works fine with my Opencomm. You need something that's configurable, though, so you can turn off the softphone integration associated with the device.

I'm using the Jabra 370 dongle that came with a previous headset with my Shokz Opencomm - you suggestion works great. Thanks.

Wow, that sucks that it's only for OpenComm users. I have the Aeropex, which is awesome except for this. Not Shokz fault that MS broke Teams integration but still.
