Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It Works! I can't believe it! The Setting is in Teams.

Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.
Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.
This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

The two beeps are because your mic is muted through your headphones rather than the teams only.
On aeropex aftershokz, I have to press and hold "+" & "-" at the same time until the voice says "muted" or "unmuted". This turns the beeping off.
From https://uk.shokz.com:
To mute the microphone, press and hold the volume+ and volume- buttons simultaneously for two seconds while on a call. Audrey will say “Mute on.” To unmute the microphone, press and hold the volume+ and volume- buttons simultaneously for two seconds while on a call with the mic muted.
I have been working remotely and using my AfterShokz Air headset happily since Q1 2019 and I have not had this issue until this week.
The issue:
I now hear two annoying beeps repeatedly, when in a Teams meeting and the mic is "Muted".
Issue does not occur on Zoom or any other "call"...
All the "fixes" I've read are useless (so far)
I believe this is a Microsoft issue and and I am amazed by the response of "uncertified so tough luck"... This issue should be addressed by the Microsoft development/support team.
I've been having the same issue for the last couple of weeks with my Plantronics 4200 headset and it's been driving me mad.
I tried all the changes to settings mentioned in this thread with no joy, but I think I've found a temporary fix by accident.
On a long call I had to pop out into the garden and the headset disconnected once I walked out of range. When I came back in it automatically reconnected and the beeps went away!
The fix only works for that particular call, so it looks like I'll need to do a little stroll each time I join a call......
I think I found a hack that works for me.
When connecting to Teams meeting, I change the device settings and select the PC microphone instead of the headset.
Hope you find it useful.
