Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It Works! I can't believe it! The Setting is in Teams.

Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.
Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.
This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

How do we get more attention from Microsoft on this issue because this has been going on long enough!
Here is another thread from over a year ago on this same issue. Double beep when muted on Teams (Aftershokz) - Microsoft Community
My Issue just started with the October update otherwise this same AfterShockZ headset worked with no beep for the last two years.
I have the same issue with an Aftershokz Air device.
I've tried every solution I can find but the only thing that seems to stop it is to switch from the devices' mic to the mic in my laptop for the duration of the Teams meeting, so muting the laptops' mic does not send a signal to the headset.
It's not a solution, just a circumvention but for me it's all about productivity. Teams is where I live all day and this issue may not seem like a big deal but I feel it hurts my productivity by distraction.
If it works for you, at least you won't be distracted from your meetings.
Thanks for the response!
You are correct in that it is centered on the devices' mic... but so far it's my belief that when I click "mute" in teams, the Teams software is sending the device a signal that the Aftershokz suddenly doesn't interpret properly... but prior to this week (literally) there was no issue.

In any case the frustration I have (and many others) is in the way this issue presented; my Aftershokz device worked fine for literally 2 years until the automatic October update to Teams, and it only presents in Teams, no other place.
Since Covid 19 I work with a mostly remote team (enterprise wide) and I am remote myself. Our enterprise uses Teams for nearly all meetings... so we're talking hundreds if not thousands of meetings under Teams without this issue.
Again thanks for the response, I don't seriously expect a "fix" from MS... it's "good to be king" and 400 complaints about beeps is not even a drop in the bucket, but I thought I'd simply add 1 more to the list.
Hi everybody, I get into this very annoying trouble today with Sennheiser HD 350BT headset. My workaround is to use teams mobile app for sound with headset and desktop app for video only. Using computer mic instead of headset works as well (as mentioned before).
Please let us know if you find any kind of permanent solution through hw/sw config etc. In Sennheiser "Smart app" (that is quite dumb currently) there is no option for this "mute beeping".
Have a nice day
Jan
