Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.
Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.
This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

Microsoft need a little encouragement to shift this up the priority list.
On 4-Nov-22 they said:
"Thank you for your feedback on this issue of devices that beep when muted. The team has added to their backlog an item which would allow you to choose how muting is handled, and this can also prevent beeping while muted. We will share an update as soon as one is available."

Hi. I have never had the issue before. Starting today, I have joined the ranks of those unfortunate enough to have to suffer the double beeping nightmate every 5 seconds in Teams. This occurs in my case when I mute the mic in the Teams desktop app, not on the device itself (a Sennheiser HD 350BT). The nightmare ends when I unmute the mic (in the Teams desktop app). I could live without this feature, so please consider "fixing" it.
