Can you mute by default whenever you enter a TEAMS meeting? I know this option is available in WebEx, but can't seem to find it in the settings in TEAMS.

Two years later and Microsoft still does not have an auto-mute option for the individual user. This is such a basic feature. I won't use Teams for anything outside of my company job because of this one thing.
my microphone is always unmuted when I enter a meeting, regardless of the number of participants. Why doesn't it save my most recent setting, in my case muted. I never want the microphone unmuted unless I decide it needs to be. Seems like microsoft makes a lot of assumptions about default settings and what is "best" for the user. Big Bro, let users customize every setting to meet their own own needs.
I couldn't agree more, it's 2023 there's no reason this feature is missing. Our company meetings have so much "noise" on them because as every single person joins Teams "unmutes" them making their mics live. If you don't have a device that shows you this, you don't realize it's a live mic and the meeting gets to hear everything going on in your home, every sound, every cough, etc.
Please add a setting for users to choose always join meetings with mute on and video off, brand it as a new feature, whatever MS's ego needs just please turn this annoying feature off.
As you said, still not a feature...and not even on the road map. :(
